In this newly created role, the successful candidate will be an accomplished stewardship professional. They will have proven skills in developing strategic comprehensive stewardship plans and will provide management oversight to ensure their successful delivery and implementation. Ideally, they will possess a love of music, education and the arts, and will be inspired by the Conservatory’s mission. The Associate Director, Stewardship will be an excellent communicator, a strategic thinker and will be known in the community as an exceptional fundraising professional who is constantly seeking out best in class processes to apply to their organization.
The ideal candidate will be poised, confident and self-assured. They will have experience managing senior level volunteers and will be known for their ability to nurture relationships internal to their team, organization and beyond. They will be organized, yet flexible and responsive, the successful candidate will apply rigour and analysis to guide and direct stewardship activities. Comfortable with decision making and calm under pressure, the successful candidate will be a team player who embraces collaboration.
Demonstrating a sophisticated understanding of stewardship plans and practices, the Associate Director will work alongside the Senior Director, Major Gifts and Stewardship and VP of Institutional Advancement to celebrate donors’ generosity with a dedication to personalized donor recognition. The new incumbent will bring creativity and imagination to stewardship, with a keen ability to tie donor interests with engagement activities. The ideal candidate will ensure an adherence to the highest standards and best practices of donor engagement and accountability for donors across the entire ranges of the Conservatory’s fundraising programs.
A mature and insightful manager who excels at coaching and mentoring their team, the successful candidate will lead by example. Proactive and resourceful, the new incumbent will be motivated to meet and exceed expectations while also demonstrating integrity and respect for others.
